A rumor surfaced that Bart van Rooij was linked to Ajax, sparking media attention. Head coach John van den Brom addressed the story at the press conference, saying, “That is nothing new. Two weeks ago the same story appeared. I spoke to Bart immediately and there was nothing to it.”

Forward Daan Rots also rejected the claim, stating, “It is simply not true. It was said he had spoken with Ajax, but that is not the case.”

Van den Brom stressed his confidence in the squad, adding, “The confidence is enormous. I am always positive. We have a clear picture of a strong opponent and we showed last week that we can compete.”

Reflecting on the first leg, the coach admitted shortcomings, noting, “We did not defend well and created too few chances in attack.” He highlighted that the week between matches provides time to work on those areas.

A day later, Lammers found the net three times in a practice game against FC Emmen, demonstrating his scoring touch.
