FC Liverpool striker Isak returns after a minor injury

Alexander Isak, the striker star of FC Liverpool, has left the Swedish national team's training camp and returned to the club on Sunday because of a minor injury, where LFC's medical team will examine him. The Reds confirmed the incident and said that further details are still pending.

Medical Examination and Missing Details

Liverpool's medical department is reviewing the minor injury that Isak is said to have sustained during the training camp. LFC released no further information on the nature or the expected downtime.

Because of the injury, Isak will miss the three remaining Nations‑League‑matches: against Poland on Monday, Bosnia‑Herzegovina on October 2 and Romania on October 5. His club teammate Florian Wirtz, who plays for the German national team, also remains in the squad.

In the first duel against Romania, which Sweden won 2‑1, Isak scored the 1‑0 on Friday. He was on the pitch for over 90 minutes before the match ended.

Liverpool recall Isak early after toe injury mars Romania win

Since his move last year for around €145 million from Newcastle United to Liverpool, Isak has repeatedly struggled with injuries. The frequent absences have limited his playing time in the Premier League.

This season he has started in all five Premier League games and scored four goals. This makes him one of the most productive attackers for the Reds.

After the first five matches the Reds remain unbeaten, but have only won twice and currently sit in sixth place. The next league game is on October 11 against Manchester City.
