FC Cologne secures Mausehund's future with loan to TSV Havelse
The two‑year contract extension, running until 30 June 2028, was announced on 5 August 2026 and guarantees 20‑year‑old defender Yannick Mausehund a place at FC Cologne while he spends the 2026‑27 season on loan at 3. Liga side TSV Havelse. The move was presented as part of the club's transfer news and rumor updates.
The extension secures Mausehund's future at the Cologne club and simultaneously offers him the chance to gain experience in a higher league. His market value is listed at €100,000.
Mausehund joined FC Cologne in early 2025 after developing in the Hertha BSC youth system. He featured in 34 Regionalliga West matches for the second team and recorded one goal.
Technical Director Lukas Berg explained the decision, stating: “After a difficult, injury‑laden start, Yannick fought back strongly last season, became a regular in our U21 and we are happy to extend his contract. We agree that a loan move to the 3. Liga is the right step for his development.”
The defender added: “I am proud to extend my contract with FC Cologne and look forward to …” indicating his enthusiasm for the upcoming loan.
The loan to TSV Havelse, a club competing in Germany's third tier, provides Mausehund with a platform to test himself against stronger opposition than the Regionalliga West.
By combining a contract extension with a strategic loan, FC Cologne aims to nurture the young defender while protecting his long‑term value to the club.
