FC Barcelone transfer window: Olmo to the Premier League, XXL deal
In the corridors of the Camp Nou, Dani Olmo, 28, is preparing to leave the dressing room where he shares every training session with Lamine Yamal. The Spanish midfielder, still a starter under Hansi Flick, is said to be on the verge of a move to the Premier League, a transfer described as “XXL”.
FC Barcelona, already busy with a turbulent summer transfer window, now has to deal with this new hot issue. According to journalist Sébastien Vidal, intermediaries have begun to approach several English clubs. Olmo remains tied to the Catalan club until June 30, 2030.
Interest of English clubs
“Dani Olmo soon in the Premier League? Intermediaries have approached Tottenham, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United to gauge their interest for January. So far, no official offer: we are still at the temperature‑checking stage,” said Sébastien Vidal on X.
At this stage, no concrete proposal has been made. The English clubs are therefore in an observation phase, which gives the matter an uncertain yet already public dimension.
Value and financial stakes
Olmo is officially contracted until 2030, but his market value ranges between 60 and 70 million euros according to several sources. It suggests an estimate close to 70 million, an amount that could prompt Barça to consider a significant cash inflow.
The Catalan club, keen to stabilise its accounts, could see this sale as a solution to boost its coffers. Moreover, the depth of Hansi Flick's squad, with many offensive stalwarts, makes Olmo's possible departure less detrimental.
Olmo's departure would also have a symbolic impact for Lamine Yamal, who shares the dressing room with the veteran. The loss of an experienced player could alter the group's dynamics, even though the young prodigy continues to develop.
The upcoming winter transfer window looks decisive: no deal is sealed yet, but discussions remain open. If the Premier League confirms its interest, an XXL transfer could materialise before the January window closes.
