Famous Fiorentina sack Grosso after disastrous start in Europe
Słynny ACF Fiorentina confirmed on Sunday evening that it had sacked Fabio Grosso, just a day after a 1‑2 home defeat to Torino, marking the coach’s third loss in Serie A and the first dismissal among the five major European leagues this season.
ACF Fiorentina issued a statement confirming the termination. “ACF Fiorentina today it has dismissed Fabio Grosso from his duties as first‑team coach,” the club said.
Serie A woes continue
The season opened with a 0‑4 loss to Roma, followed by a 0‑3 defeat to newly promoted Frosinone at home. In the first three rounds Fiorentina have scored just one goal while conceding nine, leaving them one of three Serie A sides still without a point.
Grosso’s only victory arrived in his debut, when Fiorentina beat Benevento 4‑1 in the Coppa Italia. That win remains the sole triumph under his short tenure.
