Fabbroni accuses the FIGC of paralysis and demands a hungry team

During the “Sempre Con Te” program on Radio Napoli Centrale, Mario Fabbroni said that the situation of the FIGC is paralyzing everything, adding that the elected president is having difficulty making decisions and is navigating by sight, while some hungry youngsters should be brought into the national team.

Criticism of the FIGC and the future of the national team

Fabbroni highlighted the lack of reforms and the confusion about how the technical departments should operate. According to him, Italian football must start again from the basics, looking in the mirror to recognise its own ugliness after years of self‑celebration.

He also recalled that many stadiums are more than fifty years old and cited Taranto as an anomaly in the landscape. Regarding the upcoming France‑Italy clash, he describes it as a very high‑level and complex match, while noting that against Turkey players eager to have fun emerged.

Fabbroni wonders whether coach Mancini will continue on this path, warning that the match against France might not end positively. While acknowledging the very high level of the French, he believes Italy could have chances if the national team is rejuvenated and does not succumb to nostalgia.

For him, youth must be put on the field, even risking the failure of young players in order to grow. He asked Napoli to renew the contracts that are expiring and to refresh its staff, emphasizing that the club is not unrelated to the national debate. He recalls that Napoli is the only club to have won two Scudetti in a few years, thanking the players who contributed.

Fabbroni stated that some Azzurri have legitimate demands and an advanced age, urging them to look for opportunities elsewhere. He concludes that the team needs hunger to rise again.
