English United makes Red Devils talent Joaquin Seys a priority

English United makes Red Devils talent Joaquin Seys a priority

Manchester United have a clear gap on the left wing, as the current starter Luke Shaw is getting older and has recently suffered injuries. The Red Devils talent Joaquin Seys, who impressed during his international appearances, is seen by United as the ideal replacement. His speed and defensive sharpness fit the wishes of the English club.

United makes Seys a priority

Manchester United have already included Seys in a shortlist of four candidates for the left‑back position, after numerous positive scouting reports. The club regards acquiring a new left‑back as an important priority in the upcoming transfer windows. According to TeamTalk the interest remains undiminished, making Seys an absolute priority.

Club Brugge wants Seys to mature

Club Brugge did not let Seys leave this summer, after chairman Bart Verhaeghe exercised his veto. Players such as Vermant and Tresoldi also had to stay, as did the wing‑back himself. The club wants to let him develop longer at the Jan Breydel Stadium and hopes to sell him later for a sizable sum, because he is one of the men of the future.

It is being speculated that a transfer could take place this winter, a rumor that the English press is discussing aloud. United see Seys as a possible successor or backup to Luke Shaw, who has become an icon and a piece of furniture at the club. Yet Club Brugge remains cautious; they do not want the player to leave too early.

Not everyone is convinced. Football Insider reported that United can be glad they did not bring him in, referring to his striking performance against France. Critics point to the risks of a young player who still has to prove himself at the highest level.

According to Van Bommel, United's plan is clear: Seys could become the young compatriot who will bring the Red Devils (United) many millions next summer. He is seen as the successor to Shaw, who is increasingly regarded as a permanent fixture.

The question is no longer if, but when Manchester United will capitalize on the young wing‑back. With the market value soaring, the transfer remains one of the hottest topics in both Belgian and English football media.
