England legend Heskey backs sons after Manchester City exit and Bundesliga debut

Emile Heskey, the former England striker, has voiced his hopes that both of his sons will secure regular senior football after departing Manchester City this summer, with one already making his Bundesliga debut.

New clubs for the Heskey brothers

Jaden Heskey has rejoined Sheffield Wednesday on loan, adding three League One appearances to his record since returning earlier this month. The 20‑year‑old endured a difficult spell last season, featuring in 20 Championship games as the Owls battled a points deduction and eventual relegation.

Reigan Heskey completed a permanent move to FC Köln, a deal reportedly worth up to £8 million and tied to a long‑term contract. The 18‑year‑old debuted in the Bundesliga during a 4‑1 loss to Stuttgart this month, as confirmed by Getty. He’s enjoying that, jumping into the Bundesliga, trying to break into the first team and play regularly.”

The former Premier League striker, who scored over a hundred goals and featured for England at two World Cups, added, “Jaden played, I think, about 20 games last season, and hopefully he’ll get another 30‑plus this season. Speaking, Heskey explained, “It’s the first time Jaden did last year, when he went on loan to Sheffield Wednesday… And then obviously now Reigan’s gone to Germany. So it’s all about getting the experience, getting the games, and hopefully Reigan can do the same as well.”
