Endrick threatens to quit Real Madrid in winter – Roma to loan him
While Endrick receives little playing time under José Mourinho at Real Madrid – only four minutes this season – the Italian capital plans to bring him in next January on loan with an option to buy.
Difficult Situation in Madrid
The 20‑year‑old Brazilian arrived in the summer of 2024 from Palmeiras to Real Madrid, where coach Carlo Ancelotti gave him playing time in 37 competitive matches. He did not play under Xabi Alonso before moving in winter to Olympique Lyon, where he scored eight goals and provided eight assists in 21 appearances. Back with the Blancos, he is now again under Mourinho, who has so far given him only four minutes of playing time.
Endrick's father emphasized in the summer that his son had found his happiness again in France because Real had taken the minutes away from him. Coach Carlo Ancelotti also warned recently that Brazilian youth players can hardly make progress without regular appearances.
Interest from Italy
Corriere dello Sport reports that AS Roma wanted to sign the young striker already last summer, but Mourinho stopped the deal. Now the Giallorossi want to bring the Brazilian in January, preferably on loan with an option to buy, and see him as an important reinforcement for the system of coach Gian Piero Gasperini.
AC Milan has also, according to statements from Pato at the Festival dello Sport, shown interest; Gerry Cardinale had already held talks with Real Madrid in the summer. If Roma does not reach a deal, a duel between the two Italian clubs over Endrick could arise.
Endrick remains important for Brazil: he started in both friendlies against Australia and came on in the 61st minute against India. However, without regular minutes at Real, his place in the national team is at risk.
The upcoming Champions League clash between Real Madrid and AS Roma on October 14 could further affect the negotiating room, as Roma director Tony D’Amico has, according to Corriere, already maintained close contacts with the Blancos.
