Emanuel Poku sparks late comeback as Almere City fall short

Emanuel Poku delivered a decisive corner as Almere City were beaten 3‑2 away by Dordrecht in the Eerste Divisie. The Dutch‑Ghanaian midfielder entered the match at half‑time and helped his side level the score in the final minute. The result left the visitors disappointed.

Almere City started brightly, taking the lead after only ten minutes when Olivier De Nijs finished a promising move. Dordrecht answered in the 22nd minute through Beni Mpanzu, restoring parity at the break.

Second‑half drama

Early in the second half, Stan Henderikx struck in the 58th minute to give Dordrecht a 2‑1 advantage and force Almere City to chase the game. Poku’s corner in the 90th minute found Joey Jacobs, whose header restored parity at 2‑2.

Poku also helped generate a further opportunity in stoppage time, yet Almere City failed to convert. His involvement underscored his growing influence in the side.

In the first minute of added time, Ayoub Ouarghi fired into the top corner, sealing a 3‑2 win for the hosts. The late strike extinguished any hopes of a point for Almere City.
