El United eye loan with option for Balde as Barcelona weigh sale

On a bright morning at the Camp Nou training ground, 22‑year‑old left‑back Alejandro Balde completed a routine session with his FC Barcelona teammates, yet his absence from the Elche match‑day squad underscored a transfer‑list tag that has already attracted interest from abroad. The scene set the tone for what could become a defining move in the final days of the market, with El United named as a leading suitor.

Manchester United’s preferred structure

Manchester United, the club referred to as El United in reports, have emerged as the most vocal potential destination for Balde. According to , the Old Trafford side favours securing the player on a loan that includes an option to purchase rather than committing to an outright transfer fee. This approach aligns with their current hunt for a left‑back and reflects a cautious financial strategy.

Barcelona’s conditions and financial goals

FC Barcelona have made clear they will not block a departure for Balde provided the deal yields a satisfactory income. The Catalan club intends to channel any proceeds into acquiring a left‑handed centre‑back or bolstering the attacking line‑up, signalling a broader squad‑rebuilding agenda. Their openness to a sale contrasts with the loan‑first preference expressed by Manchester United.

During the GamperPep Morata / PropiasJordi BatallaPeriodista coverage, it was noted that Balde trained normally with his peers, confirming his physical readiness despite recent comments from Xavi Flick that he “is not at one hundred percent.” The training routine suggests no immediate fitness barrier to a move.

Laura AparicioBalde reported that Balde continues to train while awaiting clarification of his future, highlighting the player’s professional attitude amid uncertainty. Meanwhile, Roger TorellóUno observed that the recent signing of Joao Cancelo and the appointment of Xavi Espart as the starter at Elche leave Balde with limited prospects for regular minutes this season.

Jorge Mendes, Balde’s representative, is in direct contact with both clubs to accelerate negotiations, according to the same source. His involvement aims to streamline discussions and ensure any agreement meets the expectations of all parties.

En the closing weeks of the transfer window, the market’s deadline looms, and observers will be watching closely for any official announcement that could reshape Barcelona’s defensive options and provide United with a promising young left‑back.
