Edoardo Bove's return: from a collapse at Watford, the new film

Edoardo Bove, Italian midfielder, 24, announces the documentary “In Un Battito” which tells of his collapse on the field with Fiorentina and his return to football with Watford after the heart operation. The film, directed by Giovanni Troilo, will be released soon in Italian cinemas.

The dramatic episode of December

On 1 December 2024, during the Serie A match between ACF Fiorentina and Inter Milan at the Artemio Franchi Stadium in Florence, Bove, then on loan from Roma, suffered a cardiac arrest 16 minutes after kickoff. The players and staff blocked the view while he was being rescued, and the game was halted.

Urgently taken to hospital, he was implanted with a cardiac defibrillator, similar to Christian Eriksen’s. Italian regulations prohibit athletes with such implants from participating in professional football, forcing Bove to leave Serie A.

Now, after two years of rehabilitation, the 22‑year‑old has signed for Watford, where he has already made seven appearances this season. The documentary explores the question “Who am I without football?” that Bove asked himself during his difficult recovery.
