EA Sports FC 27 crowns Real Madrid Mbappe despite trophy drought
EA Sports FC 27 has confirmed that Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe will grace the game’s cover, a striking endorsement for a player whose tenure at the Merengue club has yet to deliver a major trophy despite his recent European Golden Boot, Pichichi and World Cup 2026 Golden Boot triumphs.
Mbappe’s individual résumé includes the European Golden Boot and the Pichardi award, underscoring his scoring prowess even as team silver has eluded him during his time at Real Madrid.
Since joining the Merengue side, the Frenchman has been unable to lead Real Madrid to any major trophy, while the club he left, Paris Saint-Germain, captured the last two UEFA Champions League titles.
His scoring record also features the World Cup 2026 Golden Boot, yet the French national team still lacks the biggest international trophy.

EA Sports confirmed that Mbappe will feature on the cover of the upcoming EA SPORTS FC 27 edition, highlighting his marketability.
The previous year, Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham appeared on the Standard Edition cover of EA SPORTS FC 26 alongside Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala, while the Ultimate Edition showcased Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Bellingham had been the sole Standard Edition cover star for EA SPORTS FC 25; the Ultimate Edition that year featured icons such as Zinedine Zidane, David Beckham, Gianluigi Buffon and Aitana Bonmati.
EA SPORTS FC 24’s cover was headlined by Norwegian striker Erling Haaland, and before the re‑branding the game was known as FIFA; Mbappe last graced a cover for FIFA 23, the final edition under that name.
After a three‑year hiatus, Mbappe will again dominate the most popular football video‑game cover, showcasing his immense popularity and marketability despite recent underwhelming years.
