Dutchman Zian Flemming secures Premier League spot with Ipswich
The Dutch striker Zian Flemming has finally completed a Premier League‑transfer, after a lengthy search this summer. In an interview with the Algemeen Dagblad he explained that he moved from Burnley to Ipswich Town and scored immediately against Crystal Palace, after scoring eleven goals in England last season.
Transfer to Ipswich Town
Flemming swapped Burnley for Ipswich Town, meaning that despite Burnley's relegation last season he remains active in the Premier League. The move was finalized late, after clubs were considered over the summer, but only a definitive agreement was finally reached.
‘There was massive interest, but it was a matter of waiting for a club that truly committed’, Flemming said. He indicated that negotiations were difficult and that the market ultimately chose between Lille and Ipswich, after which he settled at the English top.
While Flemming let his price tag be set, Lille reinforced themselves with Ayase Ueda. The Japanese forward arrived for fifteen million euros, about five million euros less than the reported value of Flemming, illustrating price formation on the transfer market.
Since his arrival the centre‑forward has already played two matches for Ipswich and scored his first goal against Crystal Palace, giving him an immediate positive start.
Flemming expects this step to be a great development for his career, and hopes to match or surpass his goal tally of eleven in England in the coming seasons.
