Dual national call-ups put Arsenal’s Travis Chilard-Martin in spotlight

On Friday morning, Arsenal’s academy celebrated as 14‑year‑old defender Travis Chilard‑Martin received call‑ups from both England and France for their under‑16 national squads, thrusting the young talent into an early international tug‑of‑war. The dual invitations arrive as the club’s youth prospects gear up for upcoming training camps, highlighting the defender’s rising profile.

There was good news for the Arsenal academy on Friday morning, as England confirmed three call‑ups for their U16 squad later this month. Arsenal’s Jaden Maghoma, Luis Munoz and Travis Chilard‑Martin have all been selected, and a photo of the announcement was shared on Instagram.

France camp schedule

France officially confirmed Chilard‑Martin on their U16 squad list earlier this week, noting the 14‑year‑old defender as the only player in the group not attached to a French club. The announcement was also posted on Instagram.

The France camp runs from August 16th to 20th, with matches against Red Star U17 on August 19th and Montrouge U17 on August 20th.

The England camp follows the next week, featuring a double‑header of friendlies against Italy on August 25th and August 27th.

So Chilard‑Martin is free to represent both France and England and can decide his final international allegiance later, as playing for U16 sides does not bind a player to a senior national team.
