Dortmund star in the sights – Transfer worth at least €100 million

The 25-year-old German international Felix Nmecha of Borussia Dortmund is, after outstanding performances at club level and a strong campaign with Germany at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, in the focus of European top clubs. Premier League clubs are showing intense interest, with a transfer only being discussed for at least €100 million.

English top clubs show strong interest

Since the central midfielder was trained in Manchester City's youth academy, his “Homegrown” status significantly increases his attractiveness to Premier League clubs. Manchester United is considered the most persistent suitor and has already made official contact with Borussia Dortmund, while Manchester City is considering the possibility of a return. Newcastle United made a creative offer that included striker Nick Woltemade, which was rejected outright.

In the opening matches of the 2026/27 season – the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup, the Bundesliga opener against Hamburg, and the DFB Cup – Nmecha was a central pillar in BVB's tactical system. The physically strong midfielder is therefore among the hottest names on the transfer market and has proven himself both in the Bundesliga and in the Champions League.

Dortmund demands at least €100 million

The right foot is a complete box‑to‑box midfielder who can be deployed effectively both as a number eight and a number ten. Following the Transfermarkt update of 22 July 2026, his market value rose to €55.00 million, but the club has set a price tag of at least €100.00 million, including performance‑related bonuses and a sell‑on clause.

The officials at Borussia Dortmund view Nmecha, who joined the club on 3 July 2023 and extended his contract on 11 March 2026 until 30 June 2030, as an indispensable pillar. The club completely rules out a departure in the upcoming winter transfer window and is determined to keep the player.

Since the 2026 summer transfer window is already closed, discussions are likely to shift towards the 2027 winter transfer window. It is expected that the interested clubs will intensify their contacts ahead of the winter window, although the huge price tag significantly complicates a transfer.
