Dortmund keep Pole striker Marcel Regula high on winter Liste

Borussia Dortmund may act in the January transfer window to sign 19‑year‑old Pole Marcel Regula, who remains at the top of the club's winter Liste according to reports. The striker, currently with Zagłębie Lubin, is listed by sport director Ole Book as a priority target.

Why Regula interests Dortmund

The BVB's interest stems from a perceived lack of depth on the flanks, prompting officials to view Regula’s versatility as a solution. He can operate behind the striker or on the offensive wing, offering tactical flexibility that the current squad lacks.

Previous attempts and financial constraints

Regula was already a concrete topic during the last transfer period, but a serious knee injury to Giannis Konstantelias shifted Dortmund’s focus to a loan of Ethan Nwaneri from Arsenal instead. A permanent move for Regula would have required a full transfer, yet Dortmund could not generate additional revenue by selling another player, so the deal fell through.

Lubin president Pawel Jez confirmed the ongoing link, stating, "Borussia Dortmund plans for the future with Marcel Regula. We will see whether it happens in winter or next summer." The Polish forward’s contract runs until 2028, and Transfermarkt values him at roughly seven million euros.

If Dortmund secures the necessary finances, the winter window could see Regula’s name reappear as a concrete transfer target. The club’s willingness to invest hinges on its ability to fund a permanent deal without compromising other squad needs.
