Diomande records biggest market‑value rise in twelve months
In autumn 2026, Transfermarkt reported the biggest market‑value increase of the year: the 19‑year‑old winger Yan Diomande jumped from €90 million to €120 million, while Michael Olise grew from €100 million to €180 million – only Mohamed Salah and Lamine Yamal had higher increases in twelve months.
Diomande's Rise from Leganés Talent to Real Star
In summer 2025, Diomande moved from CD Leganés to RB Leipzig. His market value was then €1.5 million, but Leipzig invested €25 million including a sell‑on clause, even though he had only played 542 minutes in LaLiga.
At RB Leipzig he was involved in 23 goals in 36 matches, raising his value to €90 million. A year later came the move to Real Madrid, which paid €125 million for the Ivorian and valued him at €120 million – an increase of 7 900 percent, unmatched worldwide.
LaLiga expert Tobias Blaseio explained in the market‑value update: “Diomande was one of the most sought‑after players in this summer transfer window. Real Madrid was able to sign him for a sum that other European clubs would also have paid. He possesses all the qualities to develop into a difference‑maker in the major competitions.” He is currently still in an adaptation phase.
Comparison with the Record Jumps of Salah and Yamal
Only Mohamed Salah and Lamine Yamal have achieved higher market‑value increases in history within twelve months. Salah’s value exploded after his €42 million transfer from AS Rome to FC Liverpool in 2017: from €30 million in May 2017 to €150 million in May 2018, accompanied by 32 goals and 11 assists in 36 games, which made him the Premier League Player of the Year.
Lamine Yamal, Barcelona’s exceptional talent, rose between October 2023 and October 2024 from €125 million to €150 million. Today his market value stands at €220 million, together with Erling Haaland the most valuable player worldwide.
Other notable jumps include Manchester City striker Elliot Anderson, who climbed from €32 million to €120 million, and Bayern star Michael Olise, whose valuation rose from €100 million to €180 million.
