Dender’s rebuild hinges on World Cup left‑back Martin Expérience

FCV Dender EH have signed 27‑year‑old left‑back Martin Expérience, a former Haiti international who featured at the WK, to bolster a squad rebuilding after relegation from the Jupiler Pro League and the loss of several key players. The club hopes his experience will help navigate the challenges of the Challenger Pro League.

At 73, Dender continues to rebuild its core after the drop from the Jupiler Pro League, a process accelerated by a wave of departures. The club lost Michael Verrips, Gauthier Gallon, Fabio Ferraro, Bruny Nsimba, Alireza Jahanbakhsh, Roman Kvet, Bryan Goncalves, Noah Mbamba and Luc De Fourgerolles, while Luc Marijnissen is also linked with a move.

World Cup left‑back joins Dender

Martin Expérience is a 27‑year‑old left‑back born in Châteaubriant, France, who also holds Haitian nationality. Met Martin Expérience the club adds a player who was a regular for Haïti at the WK.

During the WK, Haïti suffered a 3‑0 defeat to Brazil, a 4‑2 loss to Morocco and a 1‑0 loss to Scotland, with Expérience playing every minute alongside Hannes Delcroix.

Expérience’s club career began at Stade Rennais, where he stayed until he was eighteen. After a season in Spain he became a fixture in the French third tier with Avranches, Cholet and Nancy, helping Nancy earn promotion.

After the WK he was without a club and took time to decide his next step. He now begins his second foreign adventure at Dender, aiming to prove himself in the Challenger Pro League.

The challenge ahead is adapting to the physicality and pace of the Challenger Pro League while contributing to Dender’s swift return to the top flight.
