Demichelis embraces Klopp’s pressure‑free method at RB Leipzig

Demichelis embraces Klopp’s pressure‑free method at RB Leipzig

Martin Demichelis, the 45‑year‑old RB Leipzig coach, has openly embraced the Vorbild Klopp Demichelis philosophy while his side sit on two wins from four Bundesliga games, and as speculation swirls about a possible successor, the German club prepares for a packed October schedule.

Klopp’s influence and Leipzig’s early season

Demichelis said he was taking a page from Jürgen Klopp’s playbook. “Germany have recently played a very good game against Greece. They have taken a brutal development in a few days. How? Through meetings, video, little things,” he told Sky a day before the 18.30 match with Eintracht Frankfurt.

In the 2026‑27 Bundesliga season, Leipzig have completed four matches, winning two and losing two, with no draws. With seven league fixtures remaining in October, the squad has little time for additional training. The compressed timetable leaves little scope for tactical adjustments before the next round of fixtures.

Despite the mixed start, a dismissal of Demichelis is not being discussed even if the team were to lose to Frankfurt, according to the German Press Agency. Speculation about a successor has intensified, with Sky mentioning Julian Nagelsmann, yet the agency confirms no concrete talks have taken place. Sky highlighted that many still regard the former national coach highly within Leipzig.

Pressure, upcoming fixtures and platform services

Demichelis welcomed the pressure, declaring, “It is the best feeling in football. To win with pressure and achieve goals.” After defeats in Bremen and Como he had warned, “I know the rules,” before steering the side to a 5‑0 victory over Hamburg. He believes that embracing pressure will drive the team toward its objectives.

Leipzig’s schedule soon includes a Champions League tie with PSV Eindhoven on Tuesday, followed by matches in Munich and Madrid. Injured players Rocco Reitz and Brajan Gruda have completed full training, and Christoph Baumgartner is expected to be a squad candidate next week. The Frankfurt encounter will see a fuller squad, giving Demichelis more tactical flexibility.
