De Rossi reshapes Genoa‑Napoli line‑up with return, two absences

Genoa have confirmed their squad for this evening’s Serie A opener against Napoli, with head coach Daniele De Rossi opting to include a few injury‑prone players, while sidelining Havel and former Traorè, and welcoming the return of Meichtry to the roster.

Havel will not travel to the stadium, as he was omitted from the matchday roster. The midfielder's absence leaves the squad one player short.

Former forward Traorè remains on the bench, with the coach indicating he needs additional time before being match‑fit. He will continue his rehabilitation before rejoining the lineup.

De Rossi also kept a few players who are currently dealing with minor injuries, trusting they can contribute. The announcement appeared on Stampa and carries the tags A− and A+.

Meichtry returns to squad

Meichtry is back in training and therefore available for selection, offering the technical staff another option for the Napoli clash. Il club sees his return as a boost to midfield depth.

De Rossi will have to rely on the available squad to confront one of the most anticipated opponents of the campaign. The Genoa side hopes to use the home advantage to surprise Napoli.

Napoli, eager to start the season on the right foot, must be wary of a Genoa side that will look to exploit the home factor. The visitors aim to begin the Serie A campaign positively.
