De Laurentiis' welcome: Costantino Favasuli joins Napoli on loan

Aurelio De Laurentiis announced that Costantino Favasuli has officially become a Napoli player, confirming the 19‑year‑old defender completed his medical at Villa Stuart and arrived on a temporary deal with an obligation to buy from US Catanzaro 1929, accompanied by his tweet “Benvenuto Costantino!”.

De Laurentiis shared the news on his personal account, writing “Benvenuto Costantino!” and confirming the loan includes a mandatory purchase clause. The club confirmed the player passed all medical examinations at Villa Stuart before the registration was finalised.

Youth and domestic career

Born on 26 April 2004, Costantino Favasuli is a Calabrian defender who grew up in the Fiorentina youth sector, where he lifted a Supercoppa and two Coppa Italia Primavera trophies. After his formative years, he spent periods at Ternana and Bari, gaining experience in Italy’s lower divisions.

He then moved to US Catanzaro 1929, where he featured in 42 matches and scored two goals from defence. Those performances earned him the attention of Napoli, prompting the temporary acquisition with a future purchase option.

International debut

Favasuli has already earned two caps for Italy, making his senior debut on 3 June in a friendly against Luxembourg. Italy secured a 1‑0 victory in that match, giving the young defender his first taste of senior international football.

The SSC Napoli communication highlighted the transfer as a strategic addition to the squad’s defensive depth. The announcement appeared on Stampa A− A+, and the Calciomercato bulletin noted the loan‑with‑obligation structure.

In the official statement, the club wrote: “Favasuli che ha svolto e superato le visite mediche a Villa Stuart è ora parte della famiglia Napoli.” The message was signed by Aurelio De Laurentiis, reinforcing his personal endorsement of the signing.

De Laurentiis concluded his statement with another warm welcome, reiterating “Benvenuto Costantino!” as the defender prepares to integrate into the Napoli squad.
