David Silva's surprise Hong Kong comeback at 40 with Supreme Shatin
Former Spain midfielder David Silva, now 40, has announced his return to professional football by signing for Hong Kong Premier League side Supreme Shatin. The club revealed the surprise signing on the seventh, and Silva is expected to travel to Hong Kong soon, regain fitness in training and be available for a match in November.
Silva, born on 8 January 1986, began his senior career in the 2006‑07 season after progressing through Valencia’s youth system. He amassed 168 official appearances with 32 goals and 36 assists before moving to Manchester City in summer 2010, where he recorded 436 matches, 77 goals and 140 assists, winning four Premier League titles among 14 trophies overall.
