Daafi calls Ajax a drama while praising PSV’s equality

Wealth manager Soufyan Daafi, who once trained in Ajax’s youth ranks, says players with a foreign background are not treated equally in Nederlands football, pointing to Ajax as the chief example while describing PSV as a rare haven of fairness.

Daafi, the adviser to many high‑profile footballers, argues that the lack of equal treatment is most evident at Ajax. He recalls personal experiences with former Ajax players and says the club consistently fails to recognise talent from diverse backgrounds.

In contrast, Daafi praises PSV, calling it the only Dutch club where everyone truly receives equal treatment. He stresses that this perception comes from the players themselves, who feel valued and respected at PSV.

Beyond his commentary, Daafi runs a company that provides financial advice to professionals. His client list includes both Nederlanders and Marokkaanse internationals, illustrating his broad reach across the Dutch football community. The discussion turned to the racist messages Oranje‑spelers received on social media after the World Cup exit. Daafi notes that such abuse underscores the deeper issue of unequal appreciation.

He quoted former star Clarence Seedorf: “Never got the recognition he should get. He is carried on hands worldwide – except in Nederland.” The remark highlights the gap between global acclaim and domestic acknowledgement.

Daafi added, “What I experience is a missing piece of appreciation from Dutch football, starting at the clubs. Except PSV! Almost everyone feels the same at their club. PSV is the only club where everyone truly equal and treated equally. That’s what I personally hear.”

He concluded with a blunt assessment of Ajax: “At Ajax definitely not. No man. I have seen it too often up close – Michael Reiziger, Winston Bogarde… Pff, I can tell many stories. Ajax is a drama in that respect.”
