Crystal Palace secure Chile forward Darío Osorio on season‑long loan

Rain drummed on the Selhurst Park roof as the crowd waited for the club’s latest announcement, the atmosphere buzzing with speculation about a new attacking option.

Loan details and performance

Crystal Palace confirmed on local time 1 day that 22‑year‑old Chile international forward Darío Osorio has arrived on a loan from Danish side Midtjylland. 【写真:Getty Images】 The agreement runs until the end of the current season and includes an option for the English club to make the move permanent.

Osorio joined Midtjylland in August 2023 after progressing through Universidad de Chile’s youth ranks and making his professional debut in 2022. In the 2023‑24 campaign he featured in 49 official matches, contributing eight goals and ten assists.

International pedigree and future role

The winger earned his senior Chile debut on 10 June 2022 at the Kirin Cup in Japan against Tunisia, and has since amassed 25 caps with three goals for the A‑team. He has also represented Chile at various youth levels.

Primarily a right‑side winger who can operate on either flank, Palace are expected to deploy him as a right wing‑back or in a shadow‑striker role. C・パレスでは右ウィングバックやシャドーとして起用されることになるだろう。

According to the club’s statement, the loan includes a purchase option that will be triggered if both parties agree before the season concludes. C・パレスの発表によると、オソリオは今季終了までのレンタル移籍で、買い取りオプションも付帯しているという。

Osorio joins a Palace squad that already features Japanese internationals Daichi Kamada and Takehiro Tomiyasu, adding further diversity to the side’s attacking options.

The signing highlights the Premier League’s continued appetite for South American talent, offering Osorio a platform to develop against some of the world’s toughest defenders.
