Crystal Palace's first WSL signing promises midfield depth
Crystal Palace have secured the signing of 26‑year‑old American midfielder Sierra Enge from French side Strasbourg on a two‑year contract, pending international clearance. The move marks the Eagles' first acquisition since their promotion back to the Women's Super League.
Enge helped Strasbourg, the then‑Premiere Ligue newcomers, finish ninth and seventh across her two seasons, starting 21 of 22 games in the 2026‑27 campaign. Palace pursued her to add real quality and depth to a midfield that must adapt quickly to top‑flight demands.
The American began her professional career at San Diego Wave FC in the United States and was selected by the club in the second round of the 2023 National Women's Super League Draft. She moved to France in 2024, joining Strasbourg and gaining valuable experience in European competition.
"The WSL is the best league in the world and to be able to play in it is a dream come true," Enge said. "It feels incredible to be at Palace, the facilities are amazing and I'm just really happy to be here."
Manager Jo Potter added: "[Sierra] adds real quality and depth to our midfield as we push for success upon our return to the WSL." The comment underscores the club's ambition to compete strongly after a season in the second tier.
For Palace, the signing provides a boost as they aim to establish themselves among the league's elite and avoid a repeat of relegation battles. For Enge, the deal offers the chance to showcase her talents in what she describes as the world's premier women's league.
Enge, 26, will join the Eagles on a two‑year deal, subject to international clearance. Crystal Palace are newcomers to the Women's Super League after spending one year in the second division.
