Coventry City’s £15m deal with Legends Global transforms CBS Arena
Premier League newcomers Coventry City have struck a landmark partnership with venue‑management firm Legends Global, committing more than £15 million over the next three years to transform the Coventry Building Society (CBS) Arena into a year‑round events destination as an all‑encompassing events venue.
The Coventry Building Society (CBS) Arena will soon become the latest ground to host Premier League football. Coventry City moved to the arena from Highfield Road in 2005 and, after periods of exile, secured a landlord lease in August last year. With a capacity of just over 32,500, it ranks as the 11th‑biggest stadium in the 2026/27 Premier League.
Why Coventry chose Legends
“Coventry City FC and Coventry Building Society Arena today announce a landmark new partnership with Legends Global, backed by a joint investment of more than £15m over the next three years,” the club statement read. The ambition is to maximise the stadium’s potential and establish it as a leading UK destination for sport, live music, exhibitions, conferences and hospitality, 365 days a year. Legends Global’s experience transforming iconic venues was a key factor in Coventry’s decision.
What the £15m will deliver
The investment will fund a major programme of transformation, including redesigned kiosks, elevated food and drink offers and new premium hospitality environments. At the heart of the new hospitality concept is a collaboration with Simon Rogan’s Umbel Restaurant Group, whose restaurants hold ten Michelin stars – the most any Premier League team enjoys as a residency chef – with a culinary residency in The Engine Room lounge.
The partnership also brings upgrades to technology, infrastructure and operations, creating a seamless match‑day experience and new premium spaces across the venue. Legends Global’s portfolio includes work with Arsenal and Chelsea, underscoring the club’s intent to raise the CBS Arena’s national and international profile. Frank Lampard led Coventry back to the Premier League, a moment captured by Getty, and the club now looks forward to opening the season against Arsenal before hosting Hull City in the arena’s first Premier League match.
