Como gamble on 17‑year‑old Harpur, Dalymount star heading to Serie A
Josh Harpur, the 17‑year‑old striker who debuted for Bohemians in May, has completed a move to Lake Como side Como 1907 on 9 September 2026, with the transfer fee undisclosed. The Italian club, currently fourth in the league under head coach Cesc Fábregas, announced the signing.
Why Como snapped up the teenager
Bohemians manager Alan Reynolds praised Harpur’s attitude and potential, saying he is a “brilliant striker for his age, scores goals and holds up the ball well”. The forward’s early exposure – a substitute appearance in the League of Ireland against Derry City and an FAI Cup tie at just 15 – convinced the Serie A side that he can develop quickly.
Harpur himself thanked Bohemians for the platform that turned him professional, recalling two years of support at the Dalymount stadium. He highlighted the club’s role in his growth and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to continue his career abroad.
Como, sitting fourth in Serie A, view Harpur as a long‑term investment under the guidance of Cesc Fábregas. The club believes his hunger and ability to hold up play will add depth to their attacking options as they chase European qualification.
The transfer offers Harpur a chance to test himself in one of Europe’s top leagues, while Bohemians lose a promising youngster but can showcase their academy’s success in producing Serie A‑ready talent.
