Como fans confront new subscription rules after heated debate

Supporters of Como grew anxious that missing matches could lead to the cancellation of their season tickets, prompting the club to act. President Mirwan Suwarso turned to Instagram stories to explain that the new Regolamento only affects renewal rights, not an immediate revocation of existing subscriptions. The clarification arrived amid a heated debate among fans about attendance clauses.

Suwarso posted a series of Instagram stories after the debate, speaking directly to the doubts raised by supporters. In these stories he addressed the most contested clause first: the requirement for a minimum number of match attendances.

Ha clarified that not reaching the minimum does not mean the subscription will be revoked during the season. Instead, the consequence is the loss of the right to renew the ticket for the following season.

He added that the same principle applies to the other rules introduced. The Regolamento states that if a seat is regularly used by non‑Como fans, the subscriber will lose the right to renew for the next season.

Regarding the ban on wearing opponent colours, Suwarso explained that this rule applies only to subscribers, as the tickets are intended for Como supporters. Allowing a Como subscriber to hand over a seat to an opposing fan would defeat the purpose of the policy.

He further illustrated the philosophy behind the measure, questioning why a Como ticket holder should give a seat to an opponent supporter when many genuine Como fans struggle to obtain tickets because matches often sell out.

Suwarso also reassured that the rule does not apply to children, stating that the club has no interest in ruining a child's experience, regardless of which team the child supports.

Finally, the president promised continuous communication, saying the club will keep clarifying the Regolamento in the coming days and answer the most frequent questions, aiming to eliminate misunderstandings and ensure that seats at the Sinigaglia stadium remain reserved for true Como fans.
