Como eye Milan Samuele Ricci as loan target to fill midfield void

Como are desperate to plug a midfield gap and have set their sights on Milan Samuele Ricci, the Italian midfielder who could arrive on loan this summer. Serie A side Milan are prepared to move on from several players, and Ricci has fallen out of favour after joining from Torino last summer, prompting the club to consider a temporary exit.

Milan ready to move on

Milan are prepared to move on from several players, and Samuele Ricci is among those earmarked for departure. The Italian joined from Torino last summer but never found favour under Max Allegri, starting very few games.

His limited minutes caused him to fade from the Azzurri setup, despite having performed well in his few appearances for the national team. Ruben Amorim has already ruled him out of his system, which has further fueled Como’s interest.

Como’s loan push

Orazio Accomando reported that Cesc Fabregas has enquired about Ricci’s possible signature, noting Fabregas’s admiration for the midfielder’s profile. An initial loan with an option to buy was offered, but Milan flatly rejected that approach.

Ruben Amorim could reunite with two former players at Milan in January

Undeterred, Como remain in the hunt and are now pushing for a loan that could turn into an obligation to buy if certain conditions are met. The club believes Ricci’s stock, which has declined over the last 12 months, can be revived with regular playing time.

At Torino and Empoli, Ricci proved a reliable deep‑midfielder, capable of beating a press, covering distance and occasionally moving further forward. Como view the Serie A side as the perfect environment for him to rediscover his form.

The main obstacle remains Milan’s refusal to accept a simple loan, meaning any deal must satisfy the conditions set by the Lombardy club. If those hurdles are cleared, Ricci could join Como before the next transfer window closes.
