Coach Spalletti calls Joker Woltemade his workhorse
On late Sunday evening, German national striker Nick Woltemade stepped onto the Juventus Turin pitch and celebrated his debut in the 76th minute, after having moved on loan from Newcastle United to the Italians the previous week and immediately attracted the coach's attention.
Loan move to Turin
Last week the German national striker moved on loan from Newcastle United to the Italians. Thus he is new in Turin and is ready to expand the offensive options.
Coach Luciano Spalletti immediately deployed the 24‑year‑old striker as a super‑sub, because the player was positioned in front of the established attacking force and generated instant pressure. The young German proved himself physically present and strong in the air.
Impact in the match against AC Milan
In the final phase of the match against AC Milan, Woltemade came on for Douglas Luiz when the score was 0‑1 in Juventus' favour. The Turinese kept pressing and looked for an equaliser.

The more attacking orientation of the Turinese paid off, and Juve equalised in stoppage time, with the goal coming from a free‑kick that Woltemade had previously cleared. The fact is that the team thus reduced the deficit.
Although he was not directly involved in the goal, he retrieved the free‑kick from which the goal resulted, demonstrating his aerial strength, which Spalletti described as a Frisian horse. The striker therefore remains an important offensive asset.
"Woltemade is strong in the air, you can use him as a solution. I continue to rely on Kolo Muani," said coach Luciano Spalletti after the match against Milan.
After the game Spalletti emphasised that he will rely on Woltemade until the end of the season, even though Randal Kolo Muani currently holds the starting position. In the end we will see where this path leads.
The German national team could benefit from Woltemade's development, but under new national coach Jürgen Klopp it remains unclear how the striker's role will evolve. And the coming weeks will show whether he also establishes himself internationally.
