Club Brugge splashes €12m on Spanish winger Virgili

Club Brugge have officially completed the signing of 20‑year‑old Spanish winger Jan Virgili from RCD Mallorca, paying €12 million to trigger his release clause and signing him to a contract until mid‑2031. The announcement came today at 15:34 and makes Virgili one of the most expensive acquisitions in the club’s history.

Virgili is widely regarded in Spain as a major talent. The right‑footed attacker prefers the left flank but can also operate on the right, offering speed, dribbling and a direct style that suit trainer Ivan Leko’s system. In his last season at Mallorca he featured in 31 competitive matches, scoring twice and providing six assists, which attracted interest from Ajax and other clubs.
