On 7 June, Eriksen collapsed briefly during a Denmark friendly against Ukraine, an incident the Danish Football Association described as a “brief loss of consciousness”. The episode recalled his cardiac arrest on 12 June 2021 in a Euro 2020 match versus Finland. Following that event, he received a sub‑cutaneous defibrillator, a device prohibited in Italian professional football, forcing his exit from Inter Milan.
