Chelsea hold firm as Fabregas’s Como pushes €30m for Chalobah
Chelsea have turned down an offer from Cesc Fabregas’s Serie B side Como worth €30 million to sign England international Trevoh Chalobah, the Premier League club confirming the bid – a guaranteed €25 million plus €5 million in bonuses – was insufficient, according to reports on Saturday.
Como, owned by former Spain midfielder Cesc Fabregas, have identified Chalobah as a key target to bolster their defensive line, according to the same Saturday reports. The England defender remains eager for a move and is expected to depart Chelsea in the summer, while the club also evaluates additional profiles.
Chelsea have made clear they will only consider offers that exceed the €30 million package, indicating the Premier League side is not willing to sell at the current valuation. The London club’s stance forces Como to either raise its bid or explore alternative signings.
Inter Milan briefly entered the chase for the academy product but have shifted focus to Tottenham’s Cristian Romero, leaving Como as the primary suitor. The negotiations are being watched closely in ENGLAND as both clubs weigh their options.
