Chelsea fans unleash mass whistling on Argentijn Enzo Fernández's return

Enzo Fernández’s Chelsea comeback was met with a chorus of whistles from fans during the friendly against Real Sociedad at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, after the Argentijn midfielder entered the pitch 62 minutes into the game.

Fernández began the Saturday afternoon friendly on the bench and was introduced after 62 minutes of play.

As soon as the stadium announcer called his name, a chorus of boos erupted from the terraces, and several Chelsea-fans made their displeasure evident.

The Argentijn midfielder had only returned to training earlier this week after an extended holiday, and he arrived at Chelsea fresh from helping Argentina reach the World Cup final, which gave him additional rest before the friendly.

De speculation linking Fernández to Manchester City has been prominent, and some supporters may have expressed their frustration through the whistling, although the exact motive remains uncertain.
