Cercle Brugge secure Irish left‑back Tayo Adaramola on four‑year deal

Republic of Ireland international left‑back Tayo Adaramola has left Crystal Palace to join Belgian club Cercle Brugge on a permanent basis, signing a four‑year contract. The 22‑year‑old, who featured in two FA Cup matches for Palace in the 2021‑22 season, arrives as a fresh defensive option.

Adaramola joined Crystal Palace’s academy at under‑12 level, progressing through the youth ranks before making his senior debut. His two FA Cup appearances came in the 2021‑22 campaign, marking his first competitive outings for the first team.

Loan experience builds readiness

He featured 16 times for Sheffield Wednesday during last season’s loan spell, gaining valuable Championship minutes. Earlier temporary moves saw him turn out for Coventry, Belgian side RWD Molenbeek, Stockport, Bradford and Leyton Orient, adding breadth to his development.

Born in Dublin, Adaramola earned his senior Republic of Ireland debut in a 5‑0 friendly victory over Grenada in May, confirming his status as an international prospect. The cap underscores his rising profile on the international stage.

Adaramola expressed his enthusiasm after the move, telling the club’s website: “I’m very happy that I can call Cercle my new home from now on. I had a good feeling right from the very first conversations. I can’t wait to get started and show what I’m capable of.”

The four‑year deal ties him to the Belgian side until 2027, providing a long‑term option at left‑back for Cercle Brugge.
