Cathro’s long‑awaited deal sends Miladinović to Partizan

While ASSE looks to trim its squad, the club prepares to send midfielder Igor Miladinović to Partizan Belgrade, a move that both relieves the French side and bolsters the Serbian champions ahead of a crucial European playoff this Monday as anticipated by Cathro.

ASSE confirmed that it would officialise the departure during the day, after several weeks of waiting. The club’s statement said the Igor Miladinović file was close to completion, highlighting the ongoing ASSE Mercato activity.

Miladinović passed his medical on Saturday in Belgrade. He is now expected at Partizan’s stadium for the traditional photo session that marks a new signing.

Following the photo, the player will travel to Zemunelo, the club’s training centre, to join his first collective training with the new teammates. The move to Zemunelo signals the start of his integration into the squad.

Playing time for Miladinović

The loan, which includes an option to buy, is set to be formalised within the day. Completion of the paperwork will make the transfer official on Monday.

The arrangement is intended to give Miladinović more minutes on the pitch and revive his career after a difficult spell at ASSE. His limited opportunities at the French club had left his confidence in need of a boost.

Partizan’s urgent need

Partizan Belgrade is eager to incorporate the midfielder quickly, as the club must travel to Spain this week for a Conference League playoff against Getafe. According to Mozzart Sport, Miladinović must be registered with UEFA in time to feature in the two‑legged tie, and no registration issues are expected.

Le Club sees the loan as a positive step toward slimming the roster and restoring balance, freeing a place while offering the player a fresh start. The club’s active market makes the departure a welcome opportunity to reduce the squad.

The contrasting aims—ASSE’s squad optimisation and Partizan’s immediate European preparation—show how a single loan can satisfy divergent priorities, with the deal poised to be finalised on Monday. Both sides now await the official confirmation.
