Capello delivers harsh criticism of De Ketelaere's dip at Atalanta

On Thursday evening at the Atalanta‑stadium, Charles De Ketelaere could not make an impact; the Red Devil lost 2‑0 again to Ajax in the Conference League, while the young Belgian has been dry since January and was substituted after only 62 minutes.

Capello delivers harsh criticism

In the Sky Sport Italia studio, Fabio Capello was asked what is going wrong with the Belgian attacking midfielder. He replied that it is not about missed goals, but about the lack of decisive actions. According to the former Real‑Madrid coach, De Ketelaere is not a genuine goal scorer.

De Ketelaere has been dry since January and could not make a difference in Amsterdam; he was taken off the field after 62 minutes. Sky Sport gave him a meagre 4.5 out of 10 for his performance against Ajax.

Capello emphasized that De Ketelaere used to see the runs of teammates better and could create dangerous positions, but those crucial passes are now missing. He also noted that the player constantly plays below the required tempo.

The Italian even suggested that Moreira is already better than De Ketelaere. The criticism comes at a time when the young Club Brugge ex‑player clearly has work to do to regain his former level.

If the Red Devil wants to continue fighting in the Conference League, De Ketelaere must quickly restore his influence and take on a decisive role again at Atalanta.
