Canal+ Sport to show Naples‑Arsenal clash as Arsenal chase first title in 22 years
Twenty‑two years after their last league triumph, Arsenal face Napoli in the Ligue des champions opener on Wednesday 9 September at 21:00. The match will be shown live on Canal+ Sport, with a replay available via the Canal+ app.
Allegri's Napoli overhaul
Les Partenopei changed the bench this summer when Massimiliano Allegri succeeded Antonio Conte in July. He launched his campaign with a 2-0 win in Gênes, after signing Kevin De Bruyne and Antonio Vergara. Napoli then slipped 2-1 at home to Côme and 3-2 away to Inter Milan, despite leading 2-0 through Matteo Politano and the Danois striker Rasmus Højlund. The Danois forward, who arrived permanently from Manchester United, has already netted two goals in three matchdays, while Benoît Badiashile joined the Campanie on loan from Chelsea.
Arsenal's title and new signings
Les Gunners were crowned English champions in May, their first league crown in 22 years, before losing the Champions League final to Paris Saint‑Germain on penalties on 30 May in Budapest. Mikel Arteta began the Premier League with three victories – 3-0 versus Coventry, 1-0 at Aston Villa through Bukayo Saka, and 2-1 over Chelsea thanks to Kai Havertz and Martin Ødegaard. Among the summer arrivals for the London club are Bruno Guimarães, Ezri Konsa, Piero Hincapié and Christos Tzolis.
