BVB talent Samuele Inacio stays in Dortmund – Never say never
In the Westfalenstadion, the 19‑year‑old attacking player Samuele Inacio feels completely at home. His father confirmed in an interview with La Repubblica that his son is overjoyed in Dortmund, but a possible return to Italy is not ruled out, and emphasized that the decision is consciously made by the young player.
Comfort in Germany
The father emphasized how much his son enjoys life in Germany. “In Germany Samuele is overjoyed, he is part of a major club and an important project,” he said in the conversation with La Repubblica. With this he underlines the close bond to the BVB.
Within a few months Inacio progressed through the BVB‑U19‑ and U23‑squads, celebrated his professional debut and then made seven appearances under coach Niko Kovač. The rapid rise demonstrates the club’s confidence in the young talent.
Spanish clubs, foremost Atlético Madrid, have already shown interest. When asked about a possible move to Serie A, Inacio replied casually: “A move to Serie A? He is relaxed and wants to conquer the world.” His father added: “Serie A? Never say never, but at the moment he is fully focused on Dortmund.”
Italian Interest
In the summer, the father revealed to Tutto Atalanta that Inter Milan and Juventus Turin had inquired directly with the BVB. “Inter Milan and Juventus have inquired directly with Borussia Dortmund,” he was quoted as saying. Despite this interest, he emphasized that currently neither the club nor Samuele is considering a transfer.
The reason for the lack of a transfer is mainly the trust the BVB places in his son, as well as his well‑being at a “great club.” “But at the moment neither the club nor Samuele is considering a transfer,” he reiterated.
Nevertheless, the family does not rule out a return to Italy. The father stressed that a future step back to Serie A remains under discussion, albeit without a concrete timetable.
Overall, Inacio’s situation shows how the BVB nurtures young talents, while the interest of Italian top clubs such as Inter and Juventus remains ongoing. For the 19‑year‑old attacking player, Dortmund currently remains the centre of his sporting development.
