BVB revelation: How Adeyemi stopped the Real transfer by a hair

Explosive revelation BVB: The Barca newcomer Karim Adeyemi would have missed Real Madrid by a hair if the club had not negotiated the player elsewhere. BVB nevertheless wanted to place him with the Royals, but the Blancos declined. The negotiations ran parallel to talks about a contract extension until 2027, which had stalled.

BVB's failed Real transaction

The black‑yellow side wanted to place Adeyemi with the Royals, as transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported. However, the Blancos declined because Real chose the Leipzig striker Yan Diomande.

BVB had already offered the German national player to several Premier‑League clubs, but talks about a contract extension until 2027 stalled. Therefore, they looked for a quick solution via a sale.

Since his move from Borussia Dortmund last summer for €22 million, Adeyemi has settled in Barcelona. In twelve league matches he scored four goals and provided three assists.

Under coach Hansi Flick the wing‑flash continues to blossom, and on Sunday evening at 21:00 he will face Real Madrid in the Clasico. The duel gives him the chance to showcase his quality against the Royals.

Jürgen Klopp recently recalled the national player to the German squad, where he stood out especially with numerous top chances. His performances in Catalonia have therefore propelled his return to the national team.
