BVB news – Rumors: Is FC Bayern taking a top Tottenham talent from Borussia Dortmund?

Borussia Dortmund is allegedly courting a top talent from Tottenham, while FC Bayern, according to Sky reports, is also showing interest. The rumours surrounding the 18‑year‑old attacking player Luca Williams‑Barnett, who has so far only been used sporadically in the first team of the Spurs, dominate the current BVB‑News.

Tottenham Talent in Focus

Luca Williams‑Barnett, an England U19 international, is said by Sky to have reached the wish list of the Black‑Yellows. In the U18 category he recorded 37 goal involvements in 32 matches, in the U21 league 15 in twelve matches, and in the UEFA Youth League he was involved in nine goals across six games. Despite these statistics he has so far only made a brief appearance in the League Cup for the Spurs.

Other Interested Parties and Competition

In addition to Bayern and Dortmund, Manchester City, Manchester United and FC Chelsea have announced their interest in Barnett. In the background of the transfer race, the situation surrounding Giannis Karetsas, whose public dispute has already led to a target‑player goal for the BVB, is also at play, as the articles after the dispute report.

Consequences for the BVB

Dortmund must take its financial leeway into account for a possible winter transfer of Barnett, as the summer investments are already heavily strained. At the same time, sporting director Ole Book is in contact with Marcel Regula, a potential replacement for the injured Giannis Karetsas, with Zaglebie Lublin demanding seven to eight million euros. Another aspect is the possible departure of Luca Reggiani, whose interest has been reported in the winter by AC Milan, Inter Milan and FC Southampton.

Coach Niko Kovac is said by Sky to extend his contract to 2029 as a mere formality, which could further secure the stability of the BVB‑squad. In the current back three, Joane Gadou, Nico Schlotterbeck and Waldemar Anton are under Kovac’s leadership, while the central defence is being reinforced by Reggiani.

The BVB‑News emphasize that the Black‑Yellows, after a strong start to the season with four wins from the first four league games, continue to be active in the transfer market. Whether Bayern actually snatches the target‑player jewel remains to be seen.
