BVB News Joey Veerman from the Netherlands thrills Borussia Dortmund

In the Westfalenstadion, where half of the seating rows in Hoffenheim are filled with Dortmund fans, Joey Veerman talks about the one thing that especially excites him: despite rumours about options in the Premier League and the Turkish league, he chose the summer signing for the black‑and‑yellow side for around €22 million.

In an interview with Sky, Veerman explained: “I had a few options before, they were the Premier League and the Turkish league. I waited for a big club that plays in the Champions League, because I played in the Champions League with PSV for three years.” The 27‑year‑old Dutchman signed until 2031 and received around €22 million for the summer signing. The signing was therefore sealed.

Veerman wants to be important at Dortmund: “I try to be important, and I like the numbers – many assists and a few goals.” He wants to win titles like at PSV and hopes that Dortmund’s club gives him the chance. For example, he praises the home and away matches.

The BVB duo sparked interest at Inter Milan and Juventus. In the rumours, further transfer alternatives are being discussed, while the options for Veerman were already clear. The transfer situation remains exciting, but the black‑and‑yellow side have taken an important step.

Karetsas' health collapse

Konstantinos Karetsas' mother confirmed the reason for the collapse against Villarreal: dehydration and circulation problems. After the match, the 18‑year‑old Greek international left the hospital, as BVB told SID. Sporting director Ole Book said: “He is doing well given the circumstances.”

BVB barely brushed past a Watzke‑hammer, but remains focused. More news and rumours about the club come daily, including details on transfer alternatives and the signing. In conclusion, Veerman emphasizes that fans in Holland are not used to this.
