BVB looks at winter transfer for top talent Regula despite thin squad

Borussia Dortmund (BVB) has again placed the 19‑year‑old attacking midfield talent Marcel Regula of Zaglebie Lubin on the transfer list for the upcoming winter. Several media outlets report that the Polish new international, after the failed summer business, could now be a realistic target for the BVB in January.

Flexibility as a Key

Regula is considered versatile: mainly in the attacking midfield, occasionally as a second striker and rarely on either wing. Coach Niko Kovač could thereby cover several weak spots in the squad, especially the right flank, where Julian Ryerson (28) is currently out with a rib injury.

Squad Shortages and Possible Counter‑Movements

The BVB also needs to broaden its attacking options due to long‑term absences of Giannis Konstantelias (ACL tear) and Justin Lerma (muscle injury). At the same time, a departure from the defence is being discussed, as centre‑back Luca Reggiani (18) could be looking for more playing time in the winter, according to the newspaper.

For Regula, Dortmund reportedly demands a transfer fee of seven to eight million euros, according to Sky Sport DE. In the summer his market value was still just under ten million euros, while the previous record sale of Zaglebie Lubin – Bartosz Bialek for five million euros – was considerably lower.

Contractually, Regula is tied to his youth club until 2028, meaning a transfer would only be possible for an appropriate fee. The current transfer and rumor mill of the BVB, disseminated through community forums, premium‑service videos and latest news, sees the winter as a possible window to relieve the squad depth.

The discussion about Regula is accompanied by other topics such as the upcoming Bundesliga matches, sports‑betting analyses and the general market‑value analysis in the club forum. The BVB therefore remains active in seeking a solution that fits both sporting and financial needs of the current situation.
