BVB could benefit from Couto's loan 22 million euros later
Yan Couto has settled in much better at FC Como as a right‑back than at Borussia Dortmund, started in the starting eleven in the first three league games, collected seven points and provided the assist for Nico Paz’s goal – the loan could eventually bring the BVB as much as €22 million.
Strong start in Italy
As reported by 90min, Yan Couto was in the starting eleven for Como in each of the first three league matches and collected seven points with his new club. In the 4:1‑victory over CFC Genoa he set up Nico Paz’s goal to make it 3:1 at the break.
Loan and purchase option in detail
BVB loaned Couto to Italy at the beginning of August. Como paid roughly €3.5 million for the loan, also takes on Couto’s full annual salary and holds a purchase option worth €22 million.
In Dortmund the right‑back never permanently displaced Julian Ryerson and had scored three goals and provided four assists in 62 competitive matches.
Should Como exercise the purchase option next summer, Dortmund could still reap a financial benefit from the transfer in the end.
In addition, BVB is said to have secured a share of any future resale in the event of a permanent move.
