Bruno Fernandes favours Man Utd as INEOS brace for 2027 offers

Manchester United attacking midfielder Bruno Fernandes is in talks with the Red Devils over a new contract, a reliable source says, confirming that co‑owners INEOS are aware of the risk of losing their star player. Fernandes, who joined in January 2020, has expressed a preference to remain at Old Trafford.

Contract details and player profile

Fernandes is contracted until 2027 with an option for a further year, and the 32‑year‑old Portugal international has been described as United’s best and most consistent performer in recent seasons. His experience and leadership have made him a pivotal figure in the squad.

The midfielder has amassed 334 appearances for Manchester United, scoring 111 goals and providing 109 assists, underscoring his influence on both ends of the pitch.

United's strategy and upcoming challenges

Manchester United want Fernandes to stay and have already entered negotiations, according to reliable journalist Dean Jones. Jones quoted the club: “Fernandes has already opened discussions with United over new terms and his recent preference has been to stay at Old Trafford.”

INEOS know the midfielder will attract interest from other clubs in 2027, and United expect “significant offers” to materialise that year. Jones added: “Their challenge is to convince him that his best future remains at Old Trafford before those options become too tempting.”

United finished third in the Premier League last season and are competing in the Champions League this campaign, yet under manager Michael Carrick they have made a disappointing start. The Red Devils beat Sabah at Old Trafford in the Champions League but lost to Brighton and Hove Albion in the Carabao Cup, and have collected only five points from five Premier League matches so far.
