Bruggink and Mulder hail Veerman's Dortmund move as a brilliant step

Middenvelder Joey Veerman is on the verge of joining Borussia Dortmund, with former PSV star Arnold Bruggink and former Dutch international Youri Mulder both hailing the move as a brilliant transfer. The midfielder, who has been a key playmaker for PSV, is set to leave the VriendenLoterij Eredivisie after a season of standout performances.

Bruggink calls it a brilliant transfer

Arnold Bruggink described the deal as “a brilliant transfer” on the digital platform of sports broadcaster . He added that “Joey is a total package, a youngster with a strong opinion, sometimes a smile and a wink.”

Bruggink noted that the VriendenLoterij Eredivisie loses an excellent player and a recognizable face, but emphasized that Borussia Dortmund is “an insane club” and that the move is “truly top” for Veerman. The PSV’er will be missed by fans back in the Netherlands.

Mulder sees no doubt about Veerman’s readiness

Youri Mulder told De that he never had any doubt about Veerman, calling himself “a fan of Veerman” and praising the player’s “unlearnable quality” and “great game insight.”

Mulder highlighted a recent pass to Wanner against Excelsior last Saturday as evidence of Veerman’s valuable passing ability, and said PSV will certainly miss him.

He also said Veerman’s unique character should stay unchanged, noting that German football still values the classic “Spielmacher” role, and Veerman represents a modern incarnation of that number ten.

Mulder described the Dortmund stadium atmosphere as “truly amazing,” mentioning the famous “Die Gelbe Wand.” He pointed out that the arena is roughly twice the size of the Philips Stadion, offering Veerman a phenomenal experience.

Volgens Bruggink and Mulder, the transfer is a perfect step for the player and reflects the growing trend of Eredivisie talents moving to top Bundesliga clubs, reinforcing Germany’s reputation as a destination for creative midfielders.
