Brugge triumph at San Siro despite Brandon Mechele's fractured nose
Club Brugge secured a 4-3 victory over Inter last night at the San Siro stadium, but the team's heroics were amplified by defender Brandon Mechele, who kept playing with a broken nose.
Mechele's injury during the match
According to the Dutch newspaper, Mechele suffered a strong blow to the face shortly after the start of the second half, causing a fracture to his nose. Blood was running from his nose and he received medical assistance on the pitch.
Despite the pain, the 33‑year‑old Brugge player did not leave the field and continued the match, inserting pads into his nostrils to contain the bleeding.

Coach Ivan Leko confirmed that the defender played the entire game, while further radiographic examinations are planned to definitively confirm the injury.
On social media, Belgian fans shared images of the player, accompanied by the comment: "He always gives everything. What a warrior."
Mechele has already endured two previous nasal septum fractures, playing in the past with a protective mask. After the final whistle, he celebrated the victory with his teammates, holding an ice bag pressed against his face.
