Brighton’s £43‑£51m price tag sparks Arsenal and Man Utd race for Jack Hinshelwood
Brighton and Hove Albion have set a price of £43 million to £51 million for 21‑year‑old Jack Hinshelwood, and both Arsenal and Man United are expected to submit offers in the coming days, according to reports (Photo: Getty). The defensive midfielder has already made 79 appearances for the Seagulls.
Rapid rise at Brighton
Hinshelwood debuted in 2023 and has quietly become one of the Premier League’s most promising young players. He recorded eight goal contributions in 27 league appearances last season, helping Brighton qualify for the UEFA Conference League.
Internationally, the England U21s youngster has earned 11 caps and played a key role in Lee Carsley’s side that won the U21 European Championship in 2025.
Why Arsenal and Man United are interested
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta admires Hinshelwood’s versatility, noting his ability to operate as a right‑back, a need amplified by injuries to Jurrien Timber, Ben White and William Saliba. The Gunners also see him as a potential midfield addition if Martin Zubimendi departs.
Man United have long admired the player and are looking for a third midfielder after securing Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans. The club’s interest aligns with their strategy to deepen the midfield pool.
Brighton are reluctant to lose the star, especially with three years remaining on his contract and a season that includes a Conference League play‑off against Tromso.
Hinshelwood’s personal ties to the club run deep; his father Adam made over 100 appearances for Brighton, giving the youngster a strong affinity for the Amex Stadium.
