BREAKING Jürgen Klopp set to steer Germany as new national boss
Jürgen Klopp has been appointed head coach of the Germany national team, marking his return to management after leaving Liverpool in 2024. The DFB confirmed the ex‑Borussia Dortmund manager’s appointment at a Friday press conference, succeeding Julian Nagelsmann following Germany’s World Cup elimination by Paraguay.
Klopp replaces Julian Nagelsmann, who stepped down after Germany’s disappointing World Cup performance that ended with a last‑32 defeat to Paraguay. The German federation cited the early exit as the catalyst for the coaching change.
Before returning to the national set‑up, Klopp served as Head of Global Soccer for the Red Bull group. His tenure there followed his departure from Liverpool.

The appointment comes with a contract that runs through the 2028 European Championship and the 2030 World Cup. It secures his leadership of the German side for the next two major tournaments.
This role marks Klopp’s first coaching job since leaving Liverpool in 2024 after a hugely successful period at Anfield. During that period he guided Liverpool to multiple trophies.
